87bansheepnw
ok this just randomly started happening, it worked fine before. only the right side will get hot, the left side pipe is still cold while right is hot, i swapped plug wires right to left and same problem still, only right side is getting hot, compression is at 116 both cylinders, it was running good then all the sudden i started it and only right was getting hot? uman1030
try switching plugs or replacing them. check your intakes, make sure that there is no cracks in them especially the side that's cold. That may be why the slide is sticking, its not getting enough fuel thru your carb to keep the slide lubricated. Had a similar issue, one side wasnt getting warm and ended up being a cracked intake. Once i fixed it the slide was sticking a little and would take a while to come off a rev. I stuck my finger in there and lubed it up with some oil wich helped but it kinda fixed itself once i ran it a few times due to the mix traveling thru the carb and lubing it. 87bansheepnw
i swapped the good plug onto the left side and it didint help, ill check the intake but i think its good..... could a clogged pilot cause it?

Absolutely. Commonly the intake boots tear near where the cross over tube goes in, especially if a boost bottle was installed. might be a good time to pony up the cash and buy or build a leakdown tester and see if she has a good seal. The side that isnt firing right, is that plug have fuel on it when you check it after it has been started or is it dry.

Strm Trpr
Did you sync the carbs after doing the TORS delete? I posted in your other thread.
87bansheepnw
the carbs are synced close enough for now, it was running fine other than slides sticking then randomly this just started happening when i started it
uman1030
If you verified its getting fuel to that plug. Next verify its sparking on that side. Engine needs compression fuel and spark to run so go down the list.
87bansheepnw
yep, its sparking, comp is 116 psi, im going to reclean the carb tommorow and see what happens
87bansheepnw
i swapped the plug wires and the problem stayed on the left side so its not electrical, im thinking its in the carb
uman1030
That isn't verifying u have spark. You need to pull the plug leave it on the wire and ground plug to the motor, kick it over and see if it had a bright blue spark. If its carburetion and it won't even fire at idle then you wouldn't have fuel on the plug. Hard to help when your answers are I think so and you don't actually verify for certain. Probably is carburetion but I doubt it has fuel on the plug if it is.
87bansheepnw
sorry if im being unclear im half asleep right now, i did check for spark that way, i was just saying i also swapped the wires. i grounded the plug to the head and it sparked blue,
ATVridinMaNiAc
Still seams like an out of sync problem somehow. Or a leak. Does both sides temps feel about the same at different amounts of throttle? Or is one side cold only at idle? Sent from my MB886 using Tapatalk one side is just completely cold at idle while other side warms up normaly, not a leak, i leak tested, im going to go reclean the carb...
