87twin350
Hey guys, Just reinstalled my stock jugs after getting a .020 over bore and hone with WSM Platinum pistons and VForce4 reeds. Tomorrow I'm gonna go get a flywheel puller and do the timing plate mod. With these new mods, and my T5's, how is this going to affect my jetting? I increased my pilots to 27.5 and my mains are at 300 with the needles centered. I ride at gordon's well. Do I need to go up with anything in regards to the advancement of the timing and the reeds? Or should I be fairly safe? It was running a little rich before the rebuild. Also, decided to go ahead and cut a few coils off the throttle springs; what a difference! Glad everything is panning out well; as much as I like to say I agree with so many people when they say to do suspension first in your build, I just wanted it to run and be usable. haha. Hoping to have an A-arm frame and YFZ450 front end and a +4 swing arm by next fall. As for the rest of the season, I just want to finish off getting used to my shee and dialing it in. uman1030
Avoid the yfz450 front end and get parts designed for the banshee.
fireball_brian
I have a clean rear shock I may part with to replace with elka. I have an airbox. shoot me a pm for my number. Thumb throttle.... cut your springs. I have 35's on my shee and the thumb was worthless after a couple min. I cut my springs and now its perfect. Make sure to use a vent tube and not one of those shorty billet vent tube caps.. My shee drinks to much and i had to take the billlet breather cap off to let her really flow. Took the Banshee out over the weekend and found out what all the little things are that need to be looked at. Here they are: 1. Rear shock is pretty well shot. Needs a rebuild or replacement. 2. Thumb throttle is undoubtedly the hardest one I have ever encountered. Thumb fatigue was like 5 minutes into the ride. 3. Doesn't like to start when it's been running for 30 minutes or so. Not riding hard. 4. Hesitation in the mid range. 5. Need a vent tube for my gas cap. (Haha splashes in my face) I did learn however that whatever aftermarket headlights I have actually work quite well. So that's a major plus in my opinion. So my questions are, do I have to go with a whole aftermarket thumb throttle assembly to get it easier? My compression tests were at about 110psi in both cylinders, is this low for stock, and if it is, is that why it's a bitch to start when hot? When I'm riding and it feels like it's loading up, is that my needle placement? My rear shock, are they worth rebuilding? Thanks everyone!
