willaduncan
Ok so I have been talking to my powder coater about options for coating the cylinders they pointed me to ceramic coating and the ceramic coaters said its not advised because it holds in heat, so my question is what are the options for coating your cylinders? Surely rattle can high temp cant be the only option???
sheerider11
People powder coat cylinders all the time. The cylinder shouldn't get that hot to mess up powder anyway. I used high temp black before. Never had an issue. Never had to touch them up either. Not much debris hit the motor directly
sheerider1026
I have powder coated many cylinders many colors. Never any heat issues or burnt finish.
WINDYCITYJOHN400
Polish, paint, powder, ceramic, rattle can, raw, do whatever. Temp will not be effected. The motor is water cooled not air cooled. I had fully polished and clear ceramic coated cylinders. No issues. I run a digital water temp gauge so I'm 100% sure. DON'T ceramic coat pipes tho.
