Will idle but not rev

Long story short I bought this 06 Banshee in pieces. The motor was in a bucket in pieces and total garbage. I bought a high performance engine and I put it all back together. It will fire up and idle, but as soon as I give it a 1/16th of an inch throttle it dies. Doesn't bog down and die, its like the coil was grounded out. I am not familiar with the TORS system but am pretty sure it is my problem. Anybody agree? What the heck do I do now? What is my fix?

if it is any help at all I also noticed the brake light comes on briefly before it dies. Any chance I could have some connections on my wiring harness mixed up? It is a factory harness so I doubt that's likely...they kind of idiot proof that stuff so it can only go back together one way.

Since I am in the mod section has anybody ever heard of Rockets in Quebec Canada? The jugs on this motor I got are blue and have ROCKETS scribed on them with a star or something... They do port jobs on 2 stroke jugs. The guy I bought it off of made a big deal out of them but I honestly have no clue. I just paid his asking price for the motor and left haha

yes you are correct on location of Tors box. just unplug it and leave it unplugged that will kill any issues it causes. The parking brake switch is on the clutch lever, electrical wire plugs in to clutch lever. just unplug it.

I'll take a stab at this. The TORS is what was causing it to die. The idle was cranked way up and it sorta idled on the park brake rev limiter. When you push the park brake switch, it turns off the rev limiter and it revs to the moon. As mentioned, get that green/yellow wire outta there and turn the idle screws down.

idle screws..... Are they the big screw on the top of the TORS units on the carbs? I was playing with those to get the carbs synched. When I screw them either way you can see the slides moving. I just thought they were for synch/slide adjustment. Perhaps some instruction on proper TORS adjustment would be in order...

I will unplug it from the harness.

yep, that is the idle. turn them the exact same amount of turns each. I believe clockwise raises idle, counter clockwise lowers it. Although don't quote me it may be the reverse its been a long time since i had a set of those installed.
