Tranny Mods?

Why are you putting in a new shift drum? I put on the tutors or tudors kit on mine and it shifts real smooth now. Also look at the shift shaft where it moves up and down on the shift star. Check to see if that spring is tight because they are weak and loose their tention quick. Thats about it. You could try a shift star but I have never had one so I couldnt say how good they work. Tudors said that with their kit you dont need one. Also check out the wear of the gears and the shift forks too and port match the case to your cylinders. It is not that hard of a job.

I havent tested mine yet, but replacing the stock lever with the yamaha factory one + 3 REALLY HD springs for the clutch seems to help the gears engauge smoother but I don't have any real testing on it yet...Im also unsure abotu the shift star mod, I know it helps you to find neutral easier but I think with a good lever and springs the rest isn't needed as bad.

You can put in Rz shift forks, cut your gears dogs (2-5 or 6), switch shims around, mod your shift star, or do an override.

PM banshee370 about cutting the gears, he has a website all about it. It stops missed shifts where you find a false neutral and is not a drag only mod it is great for all riding.

I didnt get to cut the gears this time around because of time and money, but I did put in rz forks and switched the shims.
