screamingtwin
What pipes do you recommend for my stock banshee? The FMF fatties with powercore silencer or the new Toomey T-6? I NEED PIPES BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Justintoxicated
I havent sceen the specs on the T6's but if they are like the T5's they are mostly a top end pipe, the FMF's lose a little on top end but have more power throughout than th T5's...I havent sceen any dynos with the T6's though. Cool thing about the toomys is the hush kit is available and may or may not become a necessity at glamis soon. However you can mod a the hush kit to fit the FMF's or so I hear. bignasty1
i personally havent ridden the t6's but i used to have a set of the fmf's i liked them allot but i would check into a set of pt mids. they are the best all around pipe in my opinion. silveradohd
TOOMEY. Designed specifically for Banshee's. If you are going to keep motor stock, go with the t-6. If you do engine mods, go with t-5. Friend of mine lost 8hp w/t-6. He had a full drag port though.
Justintoxicated
as far as porting I feel the Fattys work much better than toomy T-5's or even SST's at least thats what the dyno charts showed me at SamCo last time I checked. And not all porting is the same. Fattys were designed for the Banshee too and so were SST's Im of course Biased cause I have FMF pipes, but I like the toomys too especialy the finish they put on them, I just think your paying more for the name than when you buy FMF's. The FMF's are typicaly much cheaper here by about 100 or so but they are very good pipes. Honestly it depends where you want the power. Or if your picky about sound, I also like the way the toomys sound better (T-5's) Of course CPI's are better than both with porting but worse than either pipe before porting from what I hear. Also im not sure if they make a hush kit or silencers for the CPIs? feel free to argue this is jsut what I have sceen.
bignasty1
cpi's are definately not worse than both they are great oerforming pipe on non ported motors and even better on port motors. so i wouldnt bad mouth cpi either they are great pipes
ledofthezep
If you are going to keep motor stock, go with the t-6. If you do engine mods, go with t-5. I've heard that before & read it on here too. Anyone else remember that post from ????? that had sent & got a reply from Stewart Toomey and he explained in his reply that the TR6's were designed to provide best gains when on a stock motor; if your going with motor work also--go with the T5's. I had t5's...went to PC & am happy.
screamingtwin
are toomey t-5's better then the FMF fatties?
ledofthezep
For what type of riding? T5's are good dune pipes...haven't tried fatties but I know people seem to like the shit out of them. Seem to be a decent all around pipe....not so much of a top end pipe as the T5's. Justintoxicated
are toomey t-5's better then the FMF fatties? It seems the T6's are the toomey versino of SST's both perform better on stock engines than their counterparts the T5 and Fattys, but the T5's and fattys perform better on ported engines then. I hear the FMF's are better than T5's with most porting but that may jsut be speculation. Fatty's = more low and mid to top, T5's equal less low and mid and more top. They both haul ass and are a huge improvement over stock. Im not dissing CPI's How could I? I want a set myself! I just heard they were not as good as T5's or Fattys on a stock engine, that woudl not mean they are not good, jsut that you would see mroe benefits of using Fatty's SST's T5's or T6's on compleatly stock engine. But I don't have a pair to test for myself.
