wayne_smith97
I am all out of guesses here. My banshee is backfiring when you kick it. Rebuilt carbs 120/105 comp Finishing up leak down tester Slides not in wrong carb Fatty pipes Pro design filter Timing plate ( now set at zero) trying to make sure the advanced timing wasn't causing a problem. I give up. Though I know 105 is low it still should run. I pulled the pipe on the low cylinder to look at sleeve it looks good. Any suggestions on what to try next? FullThrottle_06'
Check and double check that your slides are sync'd properly and your throttle cable has a nice smooth route to the carb. tops. You've been playing with the timing so I would pull the stator cover and make sure your timing plate is set correctly and locked down tight (most likely your problem). Also check the pick-up gap between fly wheel and pick-up. Could also suggest to check your reeds and make sure they are good.
wayne_smith97
I just pulled my stator cover and verified pickup gap. Right now about .015 The timing plate is still at zero and tight Installed tors eliminator with new cable and tops Carbs are roughly synced by sight. Trying to get it started to finish sync with sync tool
J-Madd
Make sure the key isn't sheared. What kind of flywheel? OeM or RS junk? I've had a bad flywheel do that.
wayne_smith97
I will check the key again just to be safe and it's an oem.
joey83
Throw a set of plugs in it. Even if old ones look to fire ok. Or has it not ran since TORS delete??
wayne_smith97
Did put new plugs in an unhooked all tors stuff. And no it hasn't ran since tors delete

wayne_smith97
reeds? I looked at them they appeared to be closed and looked good. I will probably order some reed gaskets and take them off to get a better look.

wayne_smith97
And you disconnected small black box under left side of gas tank? Yeah took it off all together. I will check the key when I get a chance. If that's the problem I will kick my own ass for overthinking it
WINDYCITYJOHN400
…...Didn't you just get this motor running recently?
wayne_smith97
Yeah guy had it and I traded for it. Just got it running a while ago. Started acting up so I rebuilt the carbs and while I rebuilt the carbs put on the tors eliminator kit.
