Sheegon98
Hi guys i have a 1998 banshee its .30 over with weisco pistons and a pro design cool head with 19cc domes. It has the toomey intake with the 2 into 1 uni filter and an outer wear. And it has toomey t5 pipes. I run 93 octane pump gas. I do mostly trail riding and where i live i am 40ft above sea level. I run br9es spark plugs. Stock carbs, and i still have the tors on it. Right now I'm running 25 pilots and 280 mains. I just purchased the sync tool and I wanted to ask you guys what jets you think i should run and or what might be a good place to start
Surfrjag
With the domes i suppose you shoulda be on race gas. Whats your cranking compression you can run a b8es plug. 280 should be pretty close. Is it not running right?
Sheegon98
I'm sorry I'm running 20cc domes.
kedge82
i think even 20 cc domes run race gas not 100% postive on that but i think so. syncing does not require special tool.take airbox off look throug carbs slowly press accelortor watch the slides and the need to move at the exact same time there are adjustments on top of carbs to controll movement on slides just the slightest touch will make them move, they need to litrally need to move at the exact same time
BUILDER
You are starting at a pretty good place where you are at. You may end up needing to go to a 27.5 pilot but I am guessing you will be a little fat on the main with the filter you are running. That is about perfect jetting if you were running K&N pod filters so guessing it will be fat with a single filter but you are close enough to run it and adjust from where you are at. Sheegon98
Thanks a lot guys! This site is always a huge help!
Young Guns Racing
The 27.5 pilot is a plus. I would still go ahead and check compression for starters, you may be in danger of detonation by running pump fuel. Anyhow, try the pilot, sync ur carbs and go from there dialing in your main. I'm thinking you probably need to be around a 260 main. Good luck
trickedcarbine
You are on the borderline for race gas. Especially if you plan on giving it even a slight bump in timing. Check the compression and go from there. I would bump your pilot to the 27.5 though. With your filter set up you may be ok with those 280's for the mains. Swap to an 8 heat range plug to. If your simply relying on a touch cooler plug to be what it takes to not detonate it's definitely time to get safer domes if you don't wanna run higher octane.
