camatv
you will have to bore after the welding. and if the "welding" heated the cyls up over 350-400 degree's they have most likely lost much of their heat treatment. you should probably check the studs and make sure you can still tq the head to specs without pulling the threads. just a thought. registered user
cool. im just thinking out loud here but if you want to try more ideas you can put some marks were the ring ends are located and probly move the trans port further back. might need to weld the outside of the cylinders near the rear studs depending how thick the casting is but it wouldnt be any more difficult than the welding youve already done. use as much wall circumference area as you can to your advantage . putting in aux exh ports wouldnt be a bad idea either

Pasi S.
(in my opinion / I´m not a pro) If you take too much out from those 2.nd transfer openings (intake side), you may run out of cast to make those tunnels flow good, and you may have hard time to aim them how you want. I did this mistake and it was hard to fix. =just my opinion.

Atomic Monkey
Just got the carbides with longer shanks I needed to get into the transfers today. I wish there was a way to do some filling that didn't involve epoxy, I always worry about that stuff falling out.

registered user
epoxy shouldnt fall out. i put some in the transfers on a gas engine and its doing fine. maybe after a ton of hot and cold cycles it might break loose but i dont think that will happen anytime soon. then again theres about 100 different epoxies and im sure some work alot better than others
Atomic Monkey
Here's the link http://www.ccspecialtytool.com/extended-length-carbide-burrs-18-inch-3-inch-shank-length I went with the "R" shape because its the shape I used most on the 1/4" grinder.
