WINDYCITYJOHN400
Waste of paint. Throw those things in the scrap pile. ^^^ X2 Are you building a "Drag Bike"…..or doing an ethnic rattle can makeover? A Drag bike is not something you drag home, drag into the garage, drag onto a pipe of tires, then break out the masking tape and the Krylon catalog and have at it like your building a New Orleans mardi gras float. A drag bike has to be FAST first. THEN you can make it purty. If your "Drag Bike" can't beat my buddies 65HP Raptor 700….then it's not a "Drag Bike"….it's just a drag. P.S. Got enough light in your work area?
Zillaguy
P.S. Got enough light in your work area? LOL windy that light should be overhead.... That thing has to be blinding, and has to shadow the shit out of the work area.... OP you should polish that master cylinder instead of painting it.... The paint WILL peel off, polish always looks good, and is easy to maintain... X3 on scrap piling the dust guards for the front wheels.... I made chinese stars out of mine! It was all fun and games until my buddy got it in the shin! LOL

Tedder
Dang you guys are brutal. My first build was done in a dirt floor drafty building with a sliding barn door in front. Work bench was a small hydraulic welding table and the lighting was a double bulb halogen lamp, drop light (both powered by an extension cord to the house) and an open the front door lol. Still got that sweet little bike.... To the OP - Just like antique tractors Banshees get boring because they all look so similar. Clean/paint it up the way you like it to look. Have fun and good luck with the build.
mgowan
Ya the light is a lotto sign that I found but I was really bored at the time basically the only thing I'm keeping of the shee is the dust covers... Just want to have some break up to the black wheels and black powder coated hubs. The engine in it will go up for sale or part out when I get it out next week. The new one going to be put in will be a K&T 4mil big port, also going to sand blast the frame back down and re powder coat the frame back black maybe candy apple? sprinklerman
What's a "big port"? Is that how k&T classifies them?
mgowan
It is his "drag port" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sprinklerman
It is his "drag port" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Gotcha. Don't let the nay sayers discourage you. Sift through the advice ..but at 5 he end of the day , it's YOUR bike. As long as you're fin with it and like it..who cares.
mgowan
That's what I'm doing they not the ones riding it lol. It only has to go 7.00 in the 1/8th so I doubt the couple oz. of extra metal on the front will make a difference vs the look of the bike. It's a bracket bike not looking to go 5.30s with it lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sprinklerman
Just make it safe. Looks are one thing..safety is another.
mgowan
And as far as the tires underneath the quad my inner redneck came out of me about the same time and the lazy side of me showed up and they both decided it was easier to put the tires under it for the moment than to drive 20 min away at 12am to the storage building to get the atv jack out LoL but fear not Windy it on a stand now.... And as far as the "ethnic rattle can makeover" that inspired me to name this project the "Po Boi Special" LMAO hahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
