1CrazyBastard
Action Packer, towels, insulation, garbage bags with great stuff expanding foam inside. Zip loc lid shut. Will the 24 gallon one work or does it need to be bigger and I assume you mean zip tie the lid shut
tdod101
Just slap some bumper stickers on it and it will be fine
1CrazyBastard
I think the 24 gallon is fine. And yeah there's two slots on each side of the red handle. Just zip tie them. Thanks for the help
trickedcarbine
Just build a legit crate with a ratchet strap inside to lock the motor in.
trickedcarbine
These are pretty cool to. Used them a lot back when I was in the transmission business http://www.snapcrates.com/products/wooden-shipping-crates/ Edited January 4, 2014 by trickedcarbine
B.b.p builders
Make sure you support the bottom. Just had a motor shipped to me 2 weeks ago, no plywood on the bottom, damaged the oil frail bolt and cracked the case at one of the front lower studs that hold cases @ crank. Bent stud and cracked case. Got motor and half the bottom of the tote was missing! Fucking ups slamming it around cause they don't want to lift and set it down, they drop it!! B.b.p builders
Put plywood down on the bottom of the tote, and support the motor so it isn't able to move around
1CrazyBastard
I actually bought an action packer 24 gal size and a 4' x 8' sheet of that 1" insulation board lined the bottom of the action packer with it , put the engine in 2 contractor bags ,used some expanding foam in separate bags around the engine itself , packing peanuts , tied some small rope around the a/p lid tightly and then lined a large cardboard box with the 1" insulation board on all sides then top and bottom and filled the rest with packing peanuts around the engine that is inside the action packer inside the box .I sure hope it makes it there safely .Thanks for the help and I can't wait to get this thing back and running again . CrashRyan
How did this work out for you?
camatv
double box. foam 1" sheets cut to fit peanuts in the 2nd box the motor fits into. shit ton of tape. and /or have a pro packer build the box, then insure it for 5grand
trickedcarbine
^ it's a bitch, but building a box and insuring it is the best.
shrimp
I used an ice chest (cooler) to send mine to Holton, KS from New Orleans and back. It worked great. Fill it with old blankets or what ever you have.
