Banshee_Power13
Whats going on BansheeHQ, my first post so excuse me if I don't do things right, Heres the deal I just bought my first quad (Banshee) 2 days ago. The bike had been sitting for months and doesn't start, so I cleaned carbs about 2 times I was lucky enough to get it started once but once I had started I felt the pipes and only one side had been firing. Any help will be great!!
Sandking
When you cleaned the carbs did you remove the pilot and main jets to see they were clear of debris. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Banshee_Power13
Yes I did, I was able to see light thru both the pilot and main.

Sandking
New fuel, cross over tube put back in, switched carb slides if stock, bad spark plug. Just somethings to check Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
03DMshee
Did you check spark plugs? Another thing to try is switching the plug wires between cylinders and see if the other side fires now. Best thing to do when getting a banshee and not having complete history records is do a compression test and a leakdown test and see where your at...I wouod try a compression test due to the fact its so easy even a caveman can do it...search leakdown test on here andbthat will get you heading in the right direction for that...a few simple tests will save you a lot of money and time chasing problems that a gauge can figure out for you... oldskool
If you got stock carbs, check the cross over tube. I would pull and inspect reeds, new plugs. Just a few things to check.

Banshee_Power13
Is the cross over tube the choke tube? I have stock carbs. I checked the reed but wasn't really sure what to look for. I also have brand new plugs on.
oldskool
Yeah the choke tube. connects to both carbs. Inspect reed pedals for cracks, breaks and they should be shut
Banshee_Power13
Okay I just went out and bought a compression test kit and im getting 80 psi on both cylinders. Im assuming that's not good. Both reeds have no cracks, breaks and do shut.
Sandking
80s are too low but you could be using a bad compression tester. If the tester is good its time for a new top end. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Banshee_Power13
ill give another try and see what I get. Guess I gotta look into getting new top end
hoppedupandcutdown
On a compression test, be sure to hold the throttle open and kick until the needle doesnt climb anymore
Sandking
What type of compression tester did you use? Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
