williamsburgjim
....years of MX bikes has me wanting to switch over to a twist throttle on my new/old 'shee. I haven't even traced the cable yet but would I need another type of cable if I salvaged one from a dirt bike? edit: any negatives relating to riding style? For example, running hard into right hander's makes it difficult for me to grab throttle/accelerate the way I want to sometimes... . tdod101
It's easy, I have one I like it
joey83
I was the same way but took mine off. Jumping a quad is dangerous with one. Nothing like a dirtbike. But if you have to buy one Id get the little motion pro kit.
trickedcarbine
I'm a twist throttle fella, I love my motion pro kit!
oldskool
Yes, you have to change cable. Thumb throttle cable will not work with twisty

Originally i liked it since i was a dirtbike rider for years before this. few awkward landings and un avoidable ruts wich threw my center of gravity making me spike the throttle and i went to the thumb throttle lol. Open riding dragging or duning i probably would still like it but tight trails and a semi MX environment i didnt think it was the best option for me. TIM LUTZ
Bought my Shee with a twist throttle and rode it like that for 8 years. Started racing GP & XC. Put a thumber back on and lap times went down. just my 2 cent.
ATVridinMaNiAc
I would definitely agree. Twist may be fine as long as your riding isnt an MX or XC style. Otherwise f that, atvs handling arent very compatible with a twist. Love em on a dirtbike though.

WINDYCITYJOHN400
Twist throttle and serious sand whoops and I don't get along. To skim the whoops pined, I gotta be all the way back over the rear wheel. Kinda hard to control the throttle with a twist in that situation. I took my twist off and never regretted it. They did a poll of all the top ATV MX racers and found that the vast majority run the thumb throttle. But, it's YOUR machine, so do whatever YOU feel comfortable with. There is really no wrong answer.
