RadarRacing Posted December 27, 2013 Report Share Posted December 27, 2013 Stock yamaha rods are plenty good. You may have seen some threads lately about broken rods and trashed motors. Those are mostly this cheap taiwanese , chinese brown colored rods. A stock yamaha rod is an excellent rod and so are hotrods. No worries , just get it welded and make all the power you want. Exactly what I was thinking.. No dyno needed. As long as the testing is done within 30 days, the temperature is within 47 degrees and there aren't more than 6 things changed at a time, it's a legit test. Power is corrected to reference conditions of 29.92 InHg (103.3 kPa) of dry air and 60 F (15.5°C). Because the reference conditions include higher pressure and cooler air than the SAE standard, these corrected power numbers will always be about 4 % higher than the SAE power numbers.
