B.b.p builders
I just got my cheetah motor today and it has a 1-4 5m6m n in stock location any one use these? This is my first drag motor, it's a new hobby I'm picking up. I'm wondering how often do you hit neutral when shifting? I'm really wishing it was 1-4 n down. Anyone with exp. with this style of override please fill me in.
RadarRacing
It should go past neutral just fine. You should never notice it. I ride a 1-5 neutral in stock position quite a bit. They have a tendency to pop out of first gear and into neutral if you let off the gas while riding with that particular cut. At least the ones I have ridden. Not any kind of problem really. hughmyron
Apparently from what my buddy told me those are the most reliable overrides. Since (IIRC from what he said) the drum has to be modified for N down.
J-Madd
I would have it re done 2-5 n down it you're drag racing only. You can take first gear off, cut one of the tits off the shift star, then you have n down. You'll have to have some gears cut to get rid of the m4-5.
