cleaning up the frame and welding new tubes in

Recommended Posts

hey guys im new to the forum iv heard lots of good things about bansheeHQ. i picked up a frame last week and plan on cleaning it up a little bit and welding some new tubes in. could anyone tell me what size moly there using to replace some of the ugly tubes in the frame already. from a visual it looks like possibly 7/8 - 1" tubing on the stock frame. would 65-75 thousands thick moly work or are u guys using thicker tubing? also i thought about doing a subframe which im guessing i would use 3/4 moly with 65-75 thousands wall? any help appreciated. thanks guys.

1st of all. Welcome.
2nd , it's great you informed yourself via the search function.
3rd , finch doesn't build anything but time bombs. Haha.
I'm using .065 wall tubing but a lot of guys recommend thinner.

ya thinner would be nice but i still want my bike to be strong you konw. i like to ride the dunes mostly but there may be a few times when i go to the powerlines and some of that terrain is not that smooth. main reason im doing this is to make the frame not so damn ugly. but i figure id use strong tube to make up for the lost material im taking off. then again my buddys going to paint it so i think it should look clean. any suggestions are greatly appreciated
