Wakendune
I will need to replace the radiator hose before I can do that.
Wakendune
No because there is no thermostat for the water pump to build pressure against. It is a constant cycling flow. Coolant was probalby brown and crusty from burnt premix oil making its way in to the system along with the compression. When I drained the coolant the first time to change the water pump, the coolant was green and clean. It was only brown and slimy after putting it back together and having the o ring go bad. Both crank case oil and coolant were contaminated by each other. Just thought I might have done something wrong with water pump install that made it worse. Wouldn't think the new water pump would have made that much of a difference in the pressure. Again, I apologize for my banshee newbieness. Sandking
If you had crank case oil in your radiator check the water pump seal it has a water side that's labeled
Wakendune
Will check that tonight. Thanks.
Wakendune
So pump seal was installed backwards. Put it back together. Waiting on new radiator hose. Could that seal being improperly installed cause the pressure build up? Haven't done a leak down test yet. Hoping that was the root of the problem, other than the trinity stuff of course. J-Madd
It's still a head gasket issue.
Wakendune
So can I get some advice on a head gasket replacement? I will need to order parts. Do I get oem gaskets or something aftermarket and who do you guys recommend for that? Site sponsor? What parts are needed for a head gasket replacement? I am getting ready to start a leak down test kit. It has trinity stage IV heads. Edited December 17, 2013 by Wakendune

WINDYCITYJOHN400
As I said before.....Trinity. That's as far as I needed to read. Can't keep the head sealed with a weld!
Wakendune
I don't really get it. I have the stack of receipts on this bike from day one. Trinity put the heads on it in 1994. It's an 87. It's not an overly built bike, I think 19mm domes and some other stuff, t-5's, +2 jp racing swing arm, +2 j arms and wider axel. I'll have to check the rest. He hasn't done shit to it and he's had it new since 88. They are a duneing family with buggys and Rzr and plenty of quads. They shake their heads when I ask em about head gaskets. I guess I'll have to try it out and do a leak down test, if it's bad swap then gasket and if it gives me headaches, I can switch to a cool head or something. I won't switch til it becomes a problem tho. Thanks for the insight and I hope to find that it's not as big of a problem as you say. You're probably right but it's to early for me to give up. I bought this thing running for less than a grand so I don't mind throwing a little money at it. If it gives me grief, I can either swap out the heads or sell it off and stick to wake boarding. This is just to fill in some time in the off season. So is there a head gasket kit? Anything special needed for the crap ass ball sucking heads I have? Other than new heads of course. n2otoofast4u
Windy as well as most are not trinity fans for good reason. Is the head stock? You have done well thus far. A few of the good guys will coach you in from here.
Sandking
What fuel are you running with those domes and I think the o rings for that head have to come from trinity.
thomas h.
Do a leak down on your motor and pressure test on the cooling. Please also do a comp test as well

He's always run 110. Radiator hose on order and home made leak down tester in the works. Will do compression test after leak down test. If that guy has that much experience….he would know a stock motor is worth a grand! I had a Trinity motor for a few years and spent ALL of that time dealing with Trinity's incompetence. So it's highly possible your just the first guy he decided to dump that pile of problems onto. I sold mine to a guy on the other side of the country because I didn't want that problem on my doorstep. I'm not saying 100% that it's total junk…….but it's 100% likely. LOL
