sprinklerman Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 I don't disagree that the weld looks shoddy and it would have been better if welded all the way around. I'm just saying that junk like that happens sometimes in this sport (inferior products OR possible abuse/unintended use by customer) an racing in general. That's all I'm saying. Quote
lms1977 Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 I agree it sucks. But no aftermarket company is gonna pay to fix your quad or rider. They offered you new pegs which is about all any company would do.. Press the issue more with them maybe it will get you something but I don't think it will.. You admitted you new they were junk but put them on anyway?? So your at fault as well in my eyes to a degree foot pegs might not be the best place to try and save a new ounces IMO Quote
joshb Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 I think you're now at fault for admitting that you almost didn't want to put them on. If you have to second guess something like that then there's your sign. I do feel sorry for your buddy and your messed up bike though. Hope all goes well there. Quote
NYUK Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 i woulda never bolted up the pegs with them pigeon shit welds. Quote

Sent from my iPhone Sixteen-teen What about personal responsibility? Are you one of those people that blindly does whatever someone says ..and then always Blame someone else when things go bad? We always have to rely on common sense and realize that ultimately our safety is OUR responsibility in this sport. Quote

Sure I can tell you if most are good but not good enough to know if a new part needs trashed or not. Sent from my iPhone Sixteen-teen Quote
sprinklerman Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 Let me clarify. .The OP had reservations about the product before installing? That's where personal responsibility kicks in. Right then he should have called DD with his concerns and I bet anything they would had told him to ship them back. That being said..i would have never ran them welded/ designed like that. Quote
joshb Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 Well then I guess that means you just don't know. For anybody that does....they would have looked at those pegs and said no thanks. Quote
dozer Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 race vehicles from all types of motorsports get waded up everyday from part failures. it sucks. you have registered your complaint and made others aware of a sub par part. its time to fix the broken stuff and move on. Quote
jbooker82 Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 race vehicles from all types of motorsports get waded up everyday from part failures. Yea when a tire blows on a nascar and the car goes in to the wall GoodYear doesnt cover the tab. They probably dont even get a free tire. Quote
possum Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 That design is the main problem here. the square sotted joints and the way its fit up. Thats a no-no. Its easy to not get full penetration that way. But a qualified welder would know that before welding. Also yes it needs to be welded all the way around. Thats just not right. Quote
possum Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 Relooked at the pics. Man there was like NO penetration. it looks like it just slid out of that bracket. How far in was the peg into the bracket? Quote
421alkybanshee Posted December 14, 2013 Author Report Posted December 14, 2013 I'm just making all aware , and I have moved on ! Directdrive sucks! End of story!!!!!! They will never get another dime from me. Good bye 1 Quote
Deadbeat Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 end of story for you maybe, your friend isnt the only person that is gonna get hurt by those pegs though Quote
