If your concerned with the fuel mix you should remove all the fuel in the tank and carbs should be cleaned. This is very easy to do. Shut the fuel valve off located under the left side of the gas tank. Remove the rubber tube end attached to the carbs. Find a safe gas container. Remove the gas cap on the bike. Place the tube in the container and move the valve to the reserve tab and watch the gas tank flow. Once its completely empty grab a flash light and take a quick look inside the tank. 2005shee Posted December 1, 2013 Author Report Share Posted December 1, 2013 jeeme6655 you are exactly right I just wanted to have it running but ill do a compression test and if it comes out to low then ill tear it down and see how they look if they are good enough can I just re ring them or should I replace pistons anyway? I get there and he's Buck 0 5 soakin wet. I plop my fat ass on it and kick it twice and it fired right up. These things sometimes need a manly swift kick to start. You said you were new to them. Just checking. If compression is that good, reeds are ok, no air leaks to speak of, it's prob the carbs that need some tweaking and or cleaning. 2005shee Posted December 1, 2013 Author Report Share Posted December 1, 2013 i used to kick start my yz450f with a broken decompression lever. this things nothing. and ill mess withvthe carbs here in a minute i also just picked up some plugs just in case even though the others lookrd fine. im guessing itd the carb adjustment cant find anything else wrong. peterlocal22 Posted December 2, 2013 Report Share Posted December 2, 2013 2005, your making headway now, thats great! Next, lets dive into the carbs. Are you familiar with the banshee carbs? Are you running the TORS above the carbs on your bike or has it been removed? When you have down time lets get an airbox ordered with airfilter. Heres a couple videos to help you if you need it. 1st vid is to help get the carbs removed but the second one is what you want to watch for carb cleaning. Second vid is really good. 2005shee Posted December 2, 2013 Author Report Share Posted December 2, 2013 tors is still installed and yes the plugs were wet but the screws on the tors are only screwed 3 turns out and its running stock jets and has the carbs opened with toomeys. what should I adjust on the carbs and what to. uman1030 Posted December 2, 2013 Report Share Posted December 2, 2013 the screws on the tors are the idle.the screws on the side of the carb are the fuel air screws. on the carb with the choke plunger (shifter side) is visable from that side. . on the brake side carburator its harder to access since its only accessable from between the two carbs, under the seat. 1.5 is a good start Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
