ohSIXshee
I know stock stator is 100 watts. I have trail tech lights i got used but they have 50 watt bulbs. If I ditch the tail light will that work? Or should I buy a set of 35s? Sent from my Samsung Note 3 using Tapatalk
Glenyboy
Stock stator is just over 70 watts, so get the 35's. Or do the dc conversion and run LEDs, you'll get more light for less power. If you want though, get the 35w tt's then do the conversion at a later date and put led bulbs in the tt's
Glenyboy
Sorry I just re-read you post you won't need newer lights just change the bulbs to 35w, but I'd still advise led bulbs and a dc conversion for max output

Strm Trpr
So, let me get this straight, do a DC conversion, Trail Tech Stock Mount Lights w/LED Bulbs and you're good to go?
Glenyboy
If you have the mr16 bulbs yes as they are the same as household bulbs. 10w led bulbs will give you over 50w worth of light.
ohSIXshee
I meant the bulbs...do I need actual "trail tech" bulbs or can I just get em at home depot or lowes? Sent from my Samsung Note 3 using Tapatalk
Glenyboy
Get the ones from the hardware store
ohSIXshee
Went out to glamis last Thursday till sunday. Wow those trail tech lights are worse than stock. What a waist of time. Starwriter
Did you try to run those 50 watt bulbs with a stock stator? If so, that's not Trail Techs fault. People told you it wouldn't work.
Glenyboy
As mentioned above you won't get the full potential out of the bulb, and most probably be pitting out less than stock. You'd of been better running 35w until you have a bigger stator or until you do a dc conversion and run led bulbs.

mhoksch
I got some 10w led dimmable mr16 bulbs online. Only ridden twice with them but they seem great so far. Sent from my XT901 using Tapatalk now Free
ohSIXshee
I bought actual "trail tech" bulbs 35 watt. Junk. Sent from my Samsung Note 3 using Tapatalk
trickedcarbine
^then that would be trail techs fault!
