atcandbanshees
I have a 10mm hotrods crank that the lower rod bearing went bad on. Is it worth it to rebuild it?who can do it? Also what's the cost?
camatv
and i dont understad why 7 and 10 fordged cranks dont cost the same as a 4 mill or SS. all the parts are the exact same EXCEPT for the pin position. if all the webbs are good its worth it to rebuild one. Wild card, crankworks. or any other site sponsor that does it in house should be able to help you. if i had a jig to do the 10's i could do it also. ( i'm pretty picky on how i press the center's back together). i'm going to be building a 10 jig this winter along with a welding jig also. m671054
Who can stroke a crank in house besides crankworks. i'm talking old school pre hotrods crank. take a stock web and actually machine out the old rod pin and bore for a new one. had a 7mil built years ago from a stocker but dont think that shop really did the work. im sure now its no longer cost effective. just wondering who still does it. n2otoofast4u
Falicon welded and relocated the rods on a sled motor for me a couple years back. Its still worth it if there aren't readily available stroker cranks available for your application or if those cranks are billet and they want a sperm sample from Einstein to pay for them. KaN Powersports
I build stroked cranks all of the time-more for engines other than the Banshee that the aftermarket world doesn't heavily support....
