thats1banshee
I need to have my stock cylinders re sleeved. Who does this and what all does it entail to keep the portwork the same?
trickedcarbine
Fuck that noise! Just look for a good set of used stockers with a lot of life. Hell, you might even be able to come across a nice complete top end. Maybe even an aftermarket one.
jbooker82
It will cost you the same as starting over with new cylinders but if you like the ones you have it might be worth the time and money. You could always go with a 66mm-68mm big bore sleeve while your at it. I had 550 sunk in to a top end to be resleeved. That was including the finish bore and pistons. I would have the guy who ported the cylinders do the work. That way he can blend the new sleeves to match his current work.
KaN Powersports
My labor is 130 a cylinder, and I always blend the sleeves to the existing port. Banshee cyl's are still plentiful, but it is getting harder to get 'virgin' cylinders that have good bore life left. So many people 'hack' on these jugs, just buying used ones that say 'ported' is risky business. (Its like buying used electronics-maybe it works, and maybe not) ....
