Budweiserallday Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 I just got the motor tonight , I was told it was a 4 mill , going to tear it down tomorrow and see , how do I tell if its really a 4 mill and if so does anyone on here know a place to send it to get rebuilt? Trying to get something as cheap as possible (I want to sell this bike after I rebuild ) Also do I have to use a special type of piston , was told the bore was std.( I've never worked with anything but stock before) Thanks for the help Quote
Finch Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 wildcard does good crank work. give them a call. Pistons will depend on rod bore and such report back after tearing it down 1 Quote
KaN Powersports Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 When you get it apart, look at where the pin is on the crank. A stocker is like about 1/8" in from the machined ring (about) And the 4 mils have the edge of the crank pin pretty much on the edge of that raised ring.. I can definitely set this up for you-let me know if I can help .... 1 Quote
Budweiserallday Posted October 31, 2013 Author Report Posted October 31, 2013 Gonna tear it appart today , will post pictures later . Thanks y'all for replying Quote
trickedcarbine Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 I hoped you checked stroke before tear down Quote
KaN Powersports Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 I figured he didn't have the means to. He is going to send it out to have it set up-who ever ends up building it can check all of this out for him..... 1 Quote

sleeper06 Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Crank works is the best for rebuild IMO but it will run money might be better off buying used crank 1 Quote
J-Madd Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Precision Power Sports can rebuild also. They did 2 of mine last year. 1 Quote
Budweiserallday Posted November 4, 2013 Author Report Posted November 4, 2013 I've gotten everything off the engine besides flywheel and stator , and ofcorse the inside of the flywheel is stripped , can anyone help ? Idk what to do now Quote
J-Madd Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Weld a flywheel puller to it is the only way I know of. Someone else may have a better idea. Quote
Starwriter Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Yep, time to break out the welder. Be sure to clamp the ground on the flywheel puller. If you clamp it on the cases, you send the welding current through the bearings. Quote
4everwantedbanshee Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 (edited) brandon at wildcard did mine and he does great work. give him a call he will work with you on the money part. Edited November 11, 2013 by 4everwantedbanshee Quote
Tedder Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 What's the going rate of a 4mil Hot Rod crank rebuild? I've got a new pair of rod kits already. Does it matter that it's been welded? Quote
