BAMF87
What's a good combo for all around dune riding on a dune ported she?
sheerider11
14-15 / 41 Depends on tire size, power out put, how much spin you want, everyone is different. I have a 15/41 on my dune bike.
do-work-son
I run a 13/44 on my mine with 22" paddle . I don't spend a lot of time in sixth wide open I do a lot of hill shoots an playing around so that gearing works great for me
Strm Trpr
Sheerider is right. Definitely depends on your set-up. 14/41 is stock gearing and is what I run. I read in another thread that you're running a 13T front sprocket. Going up 1 tooth in front is like going down 3 teeth in back. With a 14T front sprocket, that dune port motor will require a lot more clutch fanning to keep it on the pipe than what you're used to with the 13T but you'll have a lot more top end. BAMF87
Thanks I'll put a 14 on see how it feels. My rear is 41 already.
Mighty Shee
When my Shee only had T5 pipes and a port I ran 14/44 with 20x10x10 Skat Trak Edge's and liked it. It gave me more bottom end power. Riding the dunes at Glamis I rarely used 5th gear. Now with a 4 mil stroker i'm using 14/41 (stock) gearing with the same Skat Trak tires and will most likely go to 13/41 gearing for more bottom end power.
