wayne_smith97
Got to thinking. (I got a headache while thinking). Is the stator supposed to grounded while testing the lighting side(black to yellow wires) of the stator. I was checking my mine in a freestate. Will this give me a false reading?? wayne_smith97
Just talked to a sponsor and that person said just because the lighting side of the stator went out doesnt mean that it wont fire. He said in some cases yes but not always. Any input?
J-Madd
You don't even have to have the yellow and black wires hooked up for it to run, so I'd imagine you wouldn't need them to test the primary coil either. I've seen them test all over the place and still work, but you know if you have a waaaay off number that is toast. Is it Oem?
wayne_smith97
Yeah. I bought another one but before i tested kill and key switch. only thing left after new stator would be cdi???

So i got my new stator and adjustable timing plate in and installed them and still no fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I attached some pictures and yes the stator was good. I unhooked and jumped the key switch and unhooked and disassemble the kill switch. The coil seems to test out on the ohm meter. What Now!!!!!!! The only thing i can think of is cdi. Thoughts? I was going to upload pics but it wont let me.

trickedcarbine
I would check continuity on all the whole harness. I was just in your shoes. Tore all the tape off the harness and inspected it all, tested for breaks or shorts, and replaced funky connectors. Test the on/off switch at the head lights. wayne_smith97
Just had an epiphany by you(tricked carbine) saying that. I was wondering why i couldnt see my lights when i was kicking it over. What do i do now test the switch. Continuity test.
