Starwriter
If all your bearings are good, it's only about $75 to have it trued and welded. The seals you put in yourself when you assemble the motor.

J-Madd
You can run an extension through both rods and hit that nut with an impact.
Budweiserallday
You can run an extension through both rods and hit that nut with an impact. Even if the crank is new ? I thought that would hurt the Berrings ?
Coupelx
Buy an impact wrench.
Starwriter
You can run an extension through both rods and hit that nut with an impact. I don't know what this is supposed to accomplish, but it can't be good for the rods. Set the crank on the bench, grab it like a man, and buzz the nut off with an impact wrench.

Finch
why a hammer and 3/8 extension works fine

If you just hit the impact in short bursts it won't put nearly as much stress on the rods as actually running the motor. But whatever.
Starwriter
why a hammer and 3/8 extension works fine Yeow! I made my own wristpin puller. If you make one, be sure to make the round end small enough to clear the circlip. Edited October 28, 2013 by Starwriter
