john97z28
I just bought a 98 Banshee off of a friend. He put on 35mm carbs on a stock motor. The bike runs great and smooth, but sucks down a good bit of fuel. Other friends with Banshee's keep telling me to scrap the 35's and go with 28's. I would like to do some minor motor work on it this winter. This is my first 2-stroke (had a Warrior prior) and I'm learning as I go. Any advice would be great. Thanks! Chemical Castration
The 35's are a little too big. You could sell them and use the money to buy some 28's. Did your friend buy some aftermarket intakes for the carbs? If he did youre going to either have to get a set of stock intakes or buy some smaller carb boots. I would go with some 28mm Keihin PWK's. Banchetta
If your not ported, then your losing hp and performance. Even the 28's will be too big for stock bore. Once you get it ported, then that'll be a different story and ask your porter what he recommends for his porting.....
john97z28
Thanks for the replies! My one friend with a 370 Long Rod is interested in buying the carbs, but I wasn't sure if it would be a smart idea to let them go. Thanks again! If your friend has stock carbs, you may just trade and get some cash for the whole set-up. Remeber though, if you ride in water, the stock carbs will stick. They hate water. I've tried everything I can think of to figure this out and I can't. I just bought new carbs. Are you sure you're not ported. That's big carbs for a stock motor.
