Addicted427
I've been riding since I was 5. I am 27 now. Never raced. Just trail riding with the family. I've had many different ATV's in my lifetime. I had a 2006 black special edition banshee that I purchased brand new in 2006 and sold it after I lost my brother in an accident. (not an ATV accident) That was 2 years ago. I recently got the urge to start riding again and oh boy did I wish that I would be able to purchase a new banshee. That's obviously not possible anymore in the U.S... So I had no choice but to purchase a 2014 yfz450. I purchased it about 3 weeks ago. It's OK I guess. But to me there is nothing like a banshee. I called Yamaha yesterday and asked them if there was any hope of them coming back to the US. The lady I spoke to told me that it would depend on the demand... She even gave me some info to send a letter stating how bad you want it back and if enough people send letters it would be possible. She informed me that each country decides what they want imported from yamaha in japan. Here is the info Legal department Yamaha Motor corp USA 6555 katella ave Cypress, California 90630-5101 What do you guys think? You think this is possible? I would sell my new 450 in a heart beat!!!! Sandking
It'll never happen. Wishful thinking though
RagunCajun
I dont understand your reasoning. You can buy banshee's used. Used bikes can be a tremendous savings with depreciation of mods it already has. Only good thing about buying new is you can finance it. In my book, you dont finance toys. You pay cash. A buddy of mine just got a 14yz450. Amazing bike but i am a used bike person.
RagunCajun
I'm not getting out but i always said ill have another banshee for strictly trail bike. But that wont happen. After realizing how well 4 strokes get traction and how fun they are to wheelie and play around with, i will get one. Prob a 700 raptor but im terribly igonrant on them and 4 stroke engine rebuilds in general. Edited October 2, 2013 by RagunCajun
FullThrottle_06'
The banshee is and will forever be one of the greatest sport ATV's to ever be produced. It dominated the market for 19yrs with little to vertually NO changes. It died with dignity and respect, let the bitch rest on a good note. It would kind of be like brett farve coming out of retirement for the 20th time. He was better off retireing a green bay packer with a better image and higher respect. trickedcarbine
The only people who want banshees are current owners. There's no demand. It's hard enough selling a used one. Plus with it being an ineffecient 2 stroke, they're taboo to even bring up. Banshees are a dying breed. I'm getting out, as are a lot of others. They just aren't that practical in most areas. Getting out? So that joke about selling the 4DM wasn't a joke? Just never ceases to amaze me how people will sink thousands in to a banshee and as soon as it's done the ol' for sale sign gets dusted off or the part out starts. : (

camatv
they dominated because of the aftermarket availability its one of the ONLY 4 wheelers that wouldshine in any department it was built to run in. mx, trails, dunes, drag racing, GNCC etc. they were and will always be known for the brutal power they produce. i dont know of ANY aftermarket cylinder for any suzuki 250cc 2 stroke or a 500 either. hell how many are around for banshee's? The trx 250r has lots of aftermarket, even CP cylinders. Just not near the options as the banshee.
FullThrottle_06'
When I say the word "dominated", I mean that the bike isnt even in production anymore and is still kicking ass and taking names and has been doing it longer than any sport ATV produced. Yes, the suspension sucked and in stock form they aren't all that great in the HP department. My point being they are one of a kind and it is best to leave them as they were. Don't fix shit that isn't broke kind of thing. It came, is saw, it conquered......... with some help from the aftermarket haha
Trenton Tigney
I wish it would but then again it's fine how it is now since it will never die out or go out of style. Nothing can compare to the twin cylinder 350 engine .
