sprinklerman
I'm trying to decide which settings would be better when videoing the racing/riding at LS this weekend. Right now my camera is set at 960/30fps ,but when i watch 960/30fps vids on youtube, they are in 4:3:? format( not widescreen). Is that a youtube issue? Or does the 960/30 setting always look like that? Would 720P be just as good since the vids wont be played on a TV,just computer? I haven't really got the hang of this thing yet,so any info/tips would be great.
Lowflyin
I always use 720 60fps on my hero Sent from my iPhone Sixteen-teen
dirtdigginjoe
960p is a 4:3 aspect ratio (1280x960), so it will always be that way. For higher speeds and vibration (from the quad), they recommend 720p @ 60fps for HD Hero 1, 2, and 3 White and Silver. If you have a Hero 3 Black Edition, you can to 1080p @ 60fps, or even 720p @120fps.The higher framerate helps to avoid the jitter you get from having a body mounted GoPro. And a tip: NEVER USE YOUTUBE'S STABILIZATION FEATURE! It makes you sick.Hope it helped!
Glenyboy
I used that YouTube feature and it ruined the videos, it made certain parts look like it was shot through a fun house mirror.
sprinklerman
Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like 720/60 will be the way to go then.
