imrayzor666
What's the best Banshee mechanic/tuner in Las Vegas. I tried to replace the throttle cable on my 90 Shee and it ran like shit afterwards. Took it to a local shop here and they kept it for 2 months, but when I got it back, it still runs like crap til it hits the pipe then comes alive. There's fuel in the crankcase, he says. The carbs leak now more than ever, so needless to say I'm pissed, I want it fixed correctly, and I want it done ASAP. Where is the best place to take it to in Las Vegas? I'm certainly not getting it done here in Lake Havasu.
foxrider603
Are your slides totally in sync with each other?
hoppedupandcutdown
are your slides in the right carbs? look through the air filter side for the cut outs.
Pastrykiller
If your slides are in correctly, listen for a hiss in the carb. Each side independently. If they are out if sync, you will sometimes hear the hiss as if its sucking more air in one carb vice the other. You could also be higher on one that is causing the needed to be pulling fuel and that will make a hiss sound as well. I know it sounds weird but listen to the carbs. imrayzor666
Not sure about the slides, as I haven't touched it since I brought it home from the shop. The shop said they had synched the carbs, but I'm not sure. That's why I am looking for a better shop. I tried to work on it and got myself with a shitty running Shee, so I'm looking for a good shop in Vegas or Phoenix that you guys trust to work on your Shee's. It ran great til the throttle cable melted and I tried to replace the stupid thing. Thanks for the help guys!
hoppedupandcutdown
Did you have both carbs apart at the same time when you put the cables on? Or one at a time?
hoppedupandcutdown
It would be easier for us to just help you fix it.
imrayzor666
I had them apart one at a time. I'll have to repost in about two weeks as I will not have the time to do any work on the bike after today for about two weeks, but if you think it would be easier to fix myself, Hoppedup, I'll definitely give it a try. It'll just have to wait for two weeks. Sorry guys.
JUSTWANNARACE
Just a thought, but did the choke cross over tube get put back in? Should be a litlle black tube that goes from one carb to the other.
Pastrykiller
The choke tube being missing will cause it to rev and mimic a lean condition. I'm betting that its way out of sync and that he could have possibly bent the tab on the float during disassembly.
