New to Banshees

Hello my name is Troy, I recently found my way into the world of Banshee's and the amazing community here at Bansheehq. Yesterday I purchased my very own banshee, it is a 1987, white and red, mostly stock. The only mod that is obvious to me is what I believe to be Moose racing slides. I am very much so a newb to all this stuff and will often come here from my questions, I currently live outside Albany, New York.

                                                         Thanks for reading,

                                                                                      Troy

Troy a compression test is a good idea if it won't "kick " start or just a good idea in general befoe you buy something or if you just bought it and are about to start spending money on it .Will it start at all and run ? Has it been sitting a while ?

Check the rings on the piston if it has low compression you should get new pistons if its a twin and that comes with seals and rings and the bearings that hold it to the crank. mine as well get new spark plus BR8ES run hot.

Welcome to Bansheehq

Looks like a fairly clean bike for it's age.  There's plenty of great members more then willing to help you. There's also a few members that WILL poke at you.

Hope you have thick skin. Take your time and learn about your new bike. Banshee's are extremely easy to work on once you learn the basic's

Once again welcome

Troy

My Banshee is now in full working condition as of last night, the compression test came back fine 105 on the left and 103 on the right. The reason it wouldn't kick start was a bad stator, put the new one in and now I'm getting a wonderful blue spark. When I get home today I'm putting it all back together after and I'm gonna see what it has to offer.
