Trenton Tigney
Okay so I have a banshee with an athena 392 kit on it. My compression on the right cylinder is 120psi an on my left cylinder is 80 psi I'm guessing it has a leak in the left reeds somewhere but what should the compression be on a athena 392 kit . Surfrjag
the reeds don't have anything to do with compression. you should have at least 125 on each side I would expect. time to inspect and find out why its low. headgasket or stuck rings maybe? another question is why did it loose compression? was it ran lean and hot because of an air leak? Trenton Tigney
I'm not exactly for sure I thought maybe the reeds cause there new an they couldn't get them to seal at first. I got this from another guy.
Zillaguy
Pull the cylinders, chances are you'll find pistons that are scuffed beyond belief, and the rings stuck or welded to the pistons.... More than likely it was ran lean.... It does not take long to destroy a 2 cycle engine from being ran lean... Less than an hour usually..... Alba Racing
Stock compression is 120ish. Id think you would have more.
