01Flamer
After 3 years I am finally getting my Banshee back out of the garage, and with some fresh premix it popped off on the 3rd kick! I took it to a local shop that does decibel testing, it came in at 96db. I know that the Wisconsin DNR has gotten really tough on the sound limits and 96 db is the limit. My silencer has not been repacked in about 10 years so I am guessing its probably shot, I am hoping that repacking it will maybe drop me 1-2 db. So what packing material will net me the most drop in db level? Thanks alot guys!

srp
House insulation. Any use of housing insulation should be non formaldehyde.
01Flamer
Green dips his cigarettes in formeldahyde But yeah, hardware store. It's cheap and works fine. Never had an issue with WI DNR. We ride every weekend at my cabin. Thanks alot, i just happens that we have a bunch of non-formeldahyde insulation left over at the house we are currently build, I will just grab a piece of that tomorrow. I have had 3 buddies that have gotten pinched for db violation in WI One guy twice on 2 different machines both with "quiet cores" in them, one time near Park Falls and the other was just outside of Rock Dam (near Black River Falls). Heck I got checked for db level on my Kodiak which is stock besides the wheel kit. I have a friend that is the sales rep for Part Unlimited around the Black River Falls area and he also told me that the WI DNR is cracking down. Where is you cabin located?
