Hi Bansheehq - been hooked on reading on this site for months.  Ipad follows me every break I get, can't seem to stay off.  So figured I would start posting.  Here is the new banshee I just got.  2000 - all stock except tires, never been opened up!  I knew it was going to be a little bit of a project but got it for what I thought was a good price.  Here is a picture of it.  I haven't quite figured how to post multiple pictures but I will learn.

-Bike ran good - starts 1st or 2nd kick

-Ran a compression test and around 70 lbs. of compression consistent on both sides - Ouch!!

I have a old gauge from my fsther my first banshee had 70 also in both with that gauge others have had 195 with that gauge and I have tested the gauge with special06shee's at camp. So it could still run and start at 70 psi not sure how but mine did as well. But I would get another gauge amd confirm. But yea rebuild it sounds like its shot.

Get a photobucket account. Put the photobucket app on phone if you want or just open it in your browser. upload the pics to.photobucket and then copy the IMG CODE and paste it in a reply.

Dont do pistons or any boring or anything it doesnt need! If it just needs a quick hone and rings then just do that.

Mic the cylinder as outlined the chiltons book. Its posted on here somewhere where you can download it. So check cylinder and see if its within specs. Then mic your piston and subtract that number from cylinder number. That will be the piston to cyl clearance. check it with the numbers in chilton book. If you have problems just post your numbers up and somebody will help.

Does it have factory pistons in it??

But first you need to search for that repair manual and download it.

Thanks for all the help guys.  Got my photobucket account , here is a try to post some of the pictures.  Also, I searched and searched for the forum thread on how to build and perform a leak down tester/test for a banshee.  If someone has that link handy I would greatly appreciate it.  Here are the photos of cylinder, pistons, and head.  What is the best for cleaning the piston and head as well as where the new gaskets will go?
