04yamahayfz
The question I have is it really worth it? Right now I have a stock crank stock cylinders with some great port work, 28mm carbs,VF3 reeds, trinity cool head and T-5s. I have been looking into doing a 4mm serval kit with clean up plus upgrading the carbs to 34mm and tradin the t-5s to CPIs! Will I really be gettin a lot of extra horsepower and torque for this I hate to spend that much if it ain't what it's all cracked up to be. Thanks for any input!! Also I only rides in woods tight trails and mostly hillclimb
locogato11283
Yes. With the proper setup you can get 85HP out of a pump gas Serval. I'd say that's worth every penny.
bluebanshee98
Serval would make a great woods engine. The power will come on quicker then other type cylinders. Bigger carbs and cpi's will be good on it also. If you have the funds get a good port job too. It will be a big difference like Tyler said
RagunCajun
That's what im going with. It's gonna be a long road but 80-85 on pump is what i want. the hell with ported stock juggs on race gas making less.

04yamahayfz
I have talked to a bunch of builders some say to have it ported some say just clean up and it's ready. no expense will be spared on this build so what do u all think? If getting heavy port work mean loosing power on bottom and gaining top I would just go with the clean up
RagunCajun
from the thread i made, redline racing is who you let do the porting. I think they make about 84hp.
bluebanshee98
redline racing for sure. there was a dyno sheet on there with that motor that made 90hp/50torque with av gas i believe. youll def get around 85 with good port job. call cam he can tell you exactly what the motor can make

I had him port my Serval and I love it. Tyler seen the Dyno run back in Febuary, 85.6 hp. CPI's, 35mm carbs, Cameron's domes, 4.5 timing. A year later I had him port, it gained on top with out loosing anything on the bottom.
