Larry's Shee
Does anyone have pics of worn or damaged Nikasil? Would coolant cause damage in running eng, obviously would wash the oil off, but would it cause flaking, etc? I do know the engine didn't hydro lock, but what might be indication of a bent rod? Only experiance I have is they are either good or severely bent. LOL Also, any recomendations on platers, other than Millinium, not that there is anything wrong with them, as I have used them once. Might be price shopping. BTW, this is for a 99 RM 250, sorry but this is only section I thought it might get noticed. Thanks!!
m671054
On a single i would look at the crown to the exh port floor. normally they are even.if your sitting low might be bent. if it was a twin you could compare side to side either distance above or below deck at tdc. there are a few other platers out there but millenium has always done me good as well. great service and fast turn around. Most bike cylinders you can get exchange nowadays. unless it has work done. probably cheaper to go exchange
Coupelx
The coolant could cause scoring which could lead to flaking i imagine.

Larry's Shee
Guess I should have also mentioned this a bike my son might look at. One of his co-workers. I guess the guy reused head O-rings and it leaked, no idea why head was off. My son says he might be tired of working on it, for what ever reason. He's considering it either as a flipper, or even to ride. Price is between 4-600, TBD. I did check Langcourt and Millinium, not much diff in price. m671054
For a flip dont thinks its work it. a 99 250 around here is like 1000 bucks. Not enough profit for the risk
J-Madd
I would just go with millennium. Some of the other places have mixed results.
