New Banshee, couple problems.

Recommended Posts

I picked up a 2002 banshee a week ago from a guy who apparently decided he wanted to getto mod the bike. By removing a bunch of parts. Like the seat latch, grab bar and tail light, ect. He also did some idiotic air filter mod with two tiny cone filters. Tryin to upload a picture but its too big.

Anyway, it runs pretty good, except for when i'm going WOT for more then a bit, then it starts bogging and slowing down. If i stop for a sec it'll scream off for a while, and then promptly start loosing power, when running WOT in 5th or 6th on a long open sand road. Dont really notice it when on trails in 1st-3rd, unless doing a hill clime, and then its bad. So i figure its either not getting enough air with those gay filters, not enough fuel, or not enough spark. The entire air box system is missing so i'm going to have to do an aftermarket filter setup to replace these little shits, can someone recomend a good kit that replaces everything?

i thought i posted, but k+n pods with outerwears will be fine.

Should i go with the 2nd one down or the 3rd? http://sandtoyzunlimited.com/sandtoyz/newlook/store/store_view.cfm?store_area_id=35&STORE_DEPT_ID=458

If he ditched the stock box for pods, make sure you have bigger main jets. You could be starving for fuel on the top end for sure,or melt it down.

Ok, any recomendatons on a jet kit? I'm running at 2,000ft of elevation. Bike has a set of bills pipes on it, but thats it.

Is it low on fuel?

No, there is only one line coming out of the petcock.
