vussute
Hi, got a question. I recently took off my fmf sst pipes and the 260 jet screws and put back on my 200 jet screws and my stock pipes ( dont ask!) and now my bike wont kick over! Everything is back in, made sure screws were clean etc. My idle screws are set back to 1 and a half turns and once i roll started it and it started but then started to bog out and the response was not touchy and took a long reaction time after i pressed the throttle and took about 2 seconds to actually do something and then just bogged out! I got brand new spark plugs in it not even ridden on. any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
evil
did you drop the pilots back to a 25 ? did you mess with the needles at all ?, is there gas in it ? are the carbs clean ? did you disconnect something in the process ? SICK BOY
The choke tube is a rubber tube that runs between the carbs. If it's off it will run like shit if it even runs at all.
vussute
is it one of the external tubes i would of had to taken off when i took the carbys off?
fixitrod
Nope, it runs between the carbs in the center. If you take your seat off you should see a short approx 3 or 4 inch piece of tube that goes from the center of the right side of the left carb to the center of the left side of the right carb. Also, if you took your slides out, you may have put them in the wrong carb, but I'm guessing choke tube also.
00BANSHEE
Make sure the cut out in the bottom of the slide goes to the rear of the bike when you put it back in the carb. I put mine in backwards the first time I took the carbs apart ( years ago) and it wouldn't start at all. Took awhile to figure it out. lincster
thanks guys.... wheres the choke tube? i didnt change anything in the carb exept the jets. If you are asking where the choke tube is, then it has come off and you probably have lost it. It probably fell when you push started it. Get a Clymers and look at a pix. kenr74
Oh, the almight choke tube! That little thing always gets me when I take the carbs off!
banshee2sick
This might sound stupid, but if your stck pipes were in a garage or attic or something its possible that they are clogged with some animal nest. check and make sure theyre clear

LOL Trust me, it doesn't sound stupid. I had a blister on my right foot for a week and a half once because of that.

Cotton eyed Joe
nah i checked the choke tube on and it was disconnected. Wher edoes it connect to? There should be two little "bosses" that are used to connect the two carbs together. On the left carb it will be directly in line with the choke lever. On the right carb, it will be facing the left carb. If not in place it will cause the right carb to run very lean.
