Compression test

From the "bike is a batch to start" thread.

 

OK so I checked compression. It's shows 110 on both sides. I tested it twice. I also tested it on a friends bike, his bike starts fist or 2nd kick and he's also reads 110 on each side.

 

Is 110 still good? Why is mine hard to start when a friends has the same comp and his one is so easy.

 

What else can I check?

what do ya spark plugs look like? I've already tried new plugs. Still the same.

 

when its running, does it run fine? Yes runs perfectly fine and starts one kick when its even slightly warm.

 

check your coil and stator: How do I go about doing this?

 

what other mods, ?  just pipes n rejet? DMC pipes, K&N filter with lid on and no holes. With jetting I will do a plug chop when I go riding hopefully this sunday.

By checking resistances on the primary and secondary sides of the coil.

And checking the resistance of the ignition side of the stator.

Swap CDI's with ya bud, see if that helps.

 

Do you use choke ?

 

To pull the coil cover off do I need to buy any special tools?

 

Ill trying swapping cdi's and yes I use the choke when cold starting.

have you changed your jetting for the pipes already?  if not then you have more than likely found your issue.  Aftermarket pipes allow the motor to breathe better so you need to increase the amount of fuel your carbs dish out.  INCLUDING your pilot jet, which is what aids in starting your bike.  Stock is a 25 pilot......try and jump it up to a 27.5
