jammer42
I am a polaris dealer and I build predator motors,my web site is nicholascycle.com/ please ck it out,as I have cust cams, pist, big bore kits, head porting and flow that really increases performance of the predator and 48mm carb kits. I think the predator is a great duner when you lighten it up, my built predator wieghs 342lbs with shocks. I have raced many banshees and other machines as 727 raptors, lots of them claim to run in the mid to upper 4 second 100 yard times. I hav'nt been beat yet. I know that there are banshees out there that would definatly put my predator away, but they would have a lot of money and work done to them. I have seen many banshees run low 4 second 100 yard times. they are way faster than my pred. But for a single cyl. 4 stroke I believe the predator is a good motor to build on. It seems to respond to mods well. I have raced a lot of yam. 450's to date not one has even came close to giving me a race. The fastest four stroke's I have raced are the big bore raptors. But I know there are some fast ds's out there also, I just hav'nt ran across one yet. Some of the yam 450's were big bored and camed they still did not give me a race, infact at one organized 100 yard drag race I got first and my son got second in the 500 mod class, my sons motor was stock piston, and there were a lot of yz450's there to race us. NOT trying to talk down any brand as you can mod any motor I am just saying I have the predator motor figured out, or at least going in the right direction. Some of the raptors were saying they dynoed around 75 hp., I havent had a chance to dyno my predator yet but may do so in the future as one speed shop that has a built raptor offered me his dyno to see what kind of hp my predator has. If there are any pred. owners out there and would like engine work that stays together and preforms well that is proven to win races on the track, not just on paper please get ahold of me as I have been building polaris atv motors since 1985 and only do polaris's. Not saying I could'nt push the power up on another brand also, I just do not have the time or desire to do so. The fastest polaris triple cyl. atv I have built to date went 3.8 seconds and had shocks and I jummped it at glamis. On olds hill I was radared at 87 mph with it and was not beat by any atv in the year 2000 at thanksgiving in glamis. And I raced any one that wanted to race on the hill or at the drags
Wassup350
Besides the Banshee i'd say that the best duners would be the DS 650, and probably the Quadzilla 500. I havent hear anything about the quadzilla but i have heard that the ds acts like a 2 stroke and has a ton of top end power. Of course the 250R has to be pretty damn good too but ive never ridden one of them either so i dont know how they ride. I've ridden on sand before and when i ride sand i want a lot of top end power. Im sure the yfz would be good but i dont think it would be one of the best.
