Blue Shee 2003
Hey guys I just did a leak down test on my new top end and it holds about 5 psi from 6 after 15 minutes or so and I found the leak... its tiny around the back middle base jug nut.. looks to be coming through the thread.. is it worth even worrying about though? I haven't ran it at all yet is it possible a few heat cycles will just seal it up? I'd rather not take the head off again to get to it... opinions? trickedcarbine
So if I read that right, you put it up to 6 psi and it still held 5psi after 15 mins? If that's the case run it.
sleeper06
If it is leaking there someone either made the metal porous from welding for worm holes ,holes were done wrong or something not seated rite
mike0chek
i would personally take it off then reseal it. if its leaking now it will prob only get worse, then melt your topend. Edited July 12, 2013 by mike0chek
dajogejr
Copper washer, grind the outside edge down to fit. Throw some high temp RTV... 5PSI for that long and it should be fine. Leaking around a base gasket or the head, I'd redo it.
