banshee#44
Would it benefit me in any way getting a lockout clutch if I really don't have any engine mods ?
trickedcarbine
Many will dissagree but I think any bike will benefit from a lock up. Power wise you don't need it and it is over kill, but the benefit is in setting it up for extremely light clutch pull. You can run ultra light springs and use the lock up to do the clutch engagement instead of using heavier springs. If you do it right it really can be pretty close to the feel of a newer Honda 450 dirt bike. But you could definitely also benefit spending that money on other stuff as well..... 2strokeshees
Not a cheap mod but not a bad mod, if the cash is there id go for it, Its one of the first things I did on my bikes including my girls stock-ish bike.
Fast_quad_03
I have the same questions. What does a lockup do? When you compare it to a 450 bike do you mean its going to have really torqy bottom end? I have a mild motor, dune porting, t5s, 30okos, timing advanced, 21cc domes, pro lite pistons, pro flow in open air box, vf3s, etc... Would i really benifit from a lock up? If so, how? trickedcarbine
The 450 reference was in comparison to the clutch lever feel.
boyzee81
im thinking of one too as my hand aches with clutch pull due to it being broken when i was a kid
Fast_quad_03
I have a billit hinson basket and barnett clutch with all hd springs, its a little stiff, but nothing to bad. I agree with zillafreak, try getting a new cable and a better perch. they make easy pull perches too, might be best so you can save for other mods.
