lms1977
I believe pistons would just be too much $$$ for the average guy imo.. now maybe the big time racer would but even then I bet the piston would be 3 times the cost.. would be neat to see if it helps thou

ATV Galaxy
Titanium bolts with drilled out centers filled with plastic substance. It's actually stronger and lighter then a solid ti bolt. A good friend of mine was a factory Suzuki mechanic and moved on to aviation was telling me about this cutting edge technology a fewyears ago. Lighter rotating mass equals quicker rrevving motors.... J-Madd
You want more links? http://www.techbriefs.com/content/view/2258/ http://www.schunkgraphite.com/sixcms/media.php/1696/08_04e.pdf this one is about carbon-carbon composites. http://www.carboncompositesinc.com/carbon_composites.asp they all say the exact opposite as j-madd, they are stronger, last longer and lighter than steel/aluminum pistons. Most of my post was referring to the new aluminum. And technically the carbon would "burn" before the aluminum. AL would just melt. But, that being said I was wrong about the carbon after reading the links.
