Banshee Air Jets

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, can someone tell me a little about the air Jets on stock Mikuni Carbs? I was cleaning out my carbs and rejetting this evening and noticed a jet in the lower intake side of my carb I have never previously seen. I took this jet out and was able to make out "1.6" but realized that only my left hand carb had this jet. After some research and looking at a parts fiche, this is what is known as an air jet. Basically I understand what it does but what I don't understand is why only 1 carb would have one. Is this unusual?? Thanks in advance, Bill

Hi everyone, and thanks for entertaining my forum post. To: Tdod101, what is the significance of this jet? Is it like basically yet another jet to more or less micro tweek the air fuel or is it as "larry's shee" suggested and part of the choke circuit? To: 375hp banshee, I currently have 350 mains and 25 pilots but with that being said, the pilots are for too small so I have a set of 30's on the way. The 25's will idle the bike but with the air fuel screws turned all the way in so I need to rejet....

Thanks again everyone for responding! I fixed my carbs and they do exactly what they should do now. Just for kicks I also put 30 pilots in and really should also reduce my mains down to 320 or so. It's a bit rich and likes to foul plugs but I suppose fouled plugs are always better than fried pistons huh... Catch you guys around, Bill
