Larry's Shee
Stator poles, inside of flywheel, and timing nubs rust free? Ohmed the stator, coil, and plug caps? ALL wire connections clean and tight, with maybe dab of dielectric grease? Is coil ground clean, bare metal? Ohmed switches for proper function? hoppedupandcutdown
A few guys on here lately found the ground wire where it connects to the stator and where it splits in the harness to be corroded and making poor continuity. (to be included with what Larry's saying) something else to check on a bike that has been sitting.
shook55
i took the flywheel off the stator poles had some rust i cleaned the rust off and it has the tors on but the wires are snipped i dont have any of the switchs hooked up the main key switch is snipped off what switchs do i need hooked up for it to make spark? i sanded the coil grounds down to the bare metal i cleaned the ground on the back by the voltage regulator. are there any othere grounds other than one on the stator that needs to be clean ? hoppedupandcutdown
At the key switch- connect the red/black and black wires together to run.
hoppedupandcutdown
are there any othere grounds other than one on the stator that needs to be clean ? AGAIN - the ground wire where it connects to the stator and where it splits in the harness to be corroded and making poor continuity, but if the switch is cut, THAT could be it! Larry's Shee
Just re-read all this and realized the mess you got going (actually not going). For diagnostic run a ground wire from the coil back to the engine, maybe right to a stator screw, can always make something permanent later. IIRC the key switch/wires have to make contact, the kill switch wires cannot. Also make sure the TORS brain box is unplugged. Check parking brake circut if you have one, no clue on how to disable it (search function)
shook55
did that and it fixed thanks
