what to do?

Recommended Posts

Sounds like you have a pretty good budget to build a fast machine. What kind of riding do you do? I would suggest calling up a builder and taking to them about your riding and what you plan to do with it in the future. A good builder will give you the right advice to get you started in the right direction. Porting is going to be your biggest HP gain so that is probably going to be the first place to start. Give Cameron at Redline racing a call and chat with him about it. He will give you some good ideas of where to go with it and also give you prices.

Like Builder said porting will give you the best gains for your buck. Adjustable timing plate will also give you a noticeable gain. A coolhead will allow you to use different domes. When increasing compression with domes you need to see what your compression is and check squish band. How much comp and squish will determine what octane fuel you will need to run. I'm not sure what break the bank is either, but when you start modding, its going to cost your ass. If you want to mod engine AND look good, its going to cost your ass twice as much. Have fun with it.

You dont need to narrow it down you can build a motor that is a good all around engine. You do a nice port job on your motor with a cool head and a timing plate or you build you motor to a 4 mill with a port job and it would be a great all around play bike that would be good to drag race your buddies with but also be good to ride hills and trails.
