10 mil jetting for gas

Recommended Posts

Really? What motor, altitude and temp? Those are huge jets.

Our fastest times on non oxygenated race fuel for both 300' & asphalt. Using bored 39 pwks, with 47 pilots, DGH in middle position & 182 mains. That was a 443cc cub at 300' ASL and around 80 degrees.

Roll the dice, they all need different carb tunes. It's what works best for you, without burning up motors.

Dgh is also what i run with pwk39's.. But my mains and pilots are way bigger. I currently have a 175m and a 55p.

Its a 10cub cameron did. Im around 500-900ft elevation, and temps vary from 50s to 90+. For some reason i always run bigger jets then most. Im not trying to say i have the "perfect" tune, but the hills we climb are long, steep, and soft. It puts alot of load on the motors. Imo, i personally think more fuel is better when loading a motor very hard. Once again, im not saying im right, im just sharing my opinion.

Ask cam then? id do what he says to.

Im not looking for jetting advice. Im sharing. Besides, someone can only get you in the ball park with jetting. All motors are different. And anyone that has spent time on the dyno usually finds that real world jetting is usually a richer tune then the dyno tune. You cant load a motor as hard on the dyno as you can actually riding the thing.

Thanks for the help guys I had a set of mikuni tm38s bored over to 40 on alky couldn't get the bike tuned right last weekend after I just bought billet bowls and adjustable power jets it seems like too much carb so now I'm going to try some keihin pumpers that came off another cub and see how that goes
