4mil89
4mil long rod Wiseco 795 64.50mm Stock modded cages with boyessen dual stage Graydon proline inframe drags Stock cylinder with passion racing 12 port (aggressive trail) Pwk 28s bored to 30mm 160 main 50 pilot Jjh needle Sealevel-500ft I started jetting this and its pretty close i first set the needle position in the middle and it had a hard time pulling out and you had to pretty much rev it up and dump it to get it moving. I tried moving the clip up (dropping the needle) and it only got worse. I then moved the clip down (raised the needle) all the way up and its alot better but its still a littlr off. Airscrews are 1,5 out. Should i jump up a size with the pilot? SAVAGE420
Ive always liked (had better luck) using the N68A Needles better than the JJH, when i ran those sized carbs. Anyways, Do you have a couple 48's on hand to try?
ginger
your main should be close to spot on. i would put 48 pilots in. i found now that its hotter, i have to lean my pilots on a similar setup and elevation
4mil89
hmm i jumped up to 52 and started dropping the needle. im back to the middle clip position and it seems good except its a little boggy on the low end and if i start a pull from low rpms and give it wot it like "purrs" or "breaks up" for about 1/2 second before it hits power band and then it rips... special06shee
If your having a ton of problem with jetting maybe try another needle. Go on sudco web site and study their needle chart. Also in my experience sometimes jetting is not the issue when it comes to a smooth power delivery. If you have an improper or a poor dome design that could be the issue as well. Im not saying that this is your issue but from my experience a properly set motor(dome design) it seems to me that jetting is not as crucial when it comes to a smooth power transition. But then again, this is jmo.
