atcandbanshees
I have a 4mm cub making 99.5 hp rear wheel and a +12 Swingarm on it and it spins like crazy at launch then its perfect once I grab 3rd gear wheelies just a little with 12 paddle extremes I'm think about switching to a +10 Swingarm or buying 12 paddle staggereds or 14 paddles what do u think will work best? possum
at 100 hp I vote less arm or airdown or both. And take some spring pressure off to allow a slip off the line. imo
possum
Oh and you might need to go to a 15-41 or so with a smaller rollout. imo
m671054
Primary ratio? tire pressure? hows it pull the 14-41? can you pull more like 15 or 16-41?
m671054
Whats a regular lockup? Answer all these question and youll be suprised at how good the info you get will be. i already see 2 problems in your setup. i bet there is 1 more
atcandbanshees
Tire pressure is 4lbs and direct drive lock up 2.86 and standard trans seems like if I gear it up anymore it won't wanna pull 6th
atcandbanshees
What problems do you think I should change? Also the 12 works nice when it starts hooking it's still pulling the front with me on the tank
m671054
Gear up to 16-41. Only run up to 5th gear. the extra wheel speed should help launch. i also rec all stock springs. possibly cut 1 coil on 3 of them. This will let the clutch slip a little not blowing the tires off so bad and help if it wanted to bog. then maybe add 1 nut to each arm if the clutch slips on topend.adjust tire pressure between 3-5lbs depending on sand conditions. to recap problem 1 is to low gear causing excessive spin. problem 2 is to much spring in clutch. problem 3 was the bonus. 6th gear is not for sand drags in my opinion. This should help. dont overtire. it will slow you down on the longer runs
coryv4
16 41 in 5th gear should pull pretty damn near 6th gear with a 14
m671054
Exactly. same topend speed/ratio but one less shift and more wheel speed off the line
atcandbanshees
Tried my new setup this weekend and worked pretty well I think in oregon sand it will be dead on here in Washington sand is more course. I put half stock springs back in and am running a 15 41 gear setup it didn't wanna launch 2nd with the 16 front also running 3.5 tire pressure
