fkonieczny
Ok here it is! I tried to adjust my clutch. I have the side cover off and am adjusting the screw in the center of the clutch. I have the clutch feeling perfect and the arm on top of the engine case (left side) is lined up with the arrow. Problem is when its in gear and clutch lever pulled in, the gears still turn when I roll the quad. It acts like the clucth isnt even pulled in. When I do pull in the clutch lever, the outside plate moves out. If I turn that screw to tight, t hen the clutch lever is WAY to tight. What gives. It worked fine before I started messing with it. I am not sure what I got out of whack. THe clutch is stock by the way....... a 99 with low hours.
BdBanshee
Sounds like you got the pressure plate on wrong. Rotate it to the next position and put back together. You are not the 1st to do this! Ron.
fixitrod
What do you mean by way to tight. The pull should be much different as far as adjusting the center screw because you should be adjusting the cable at the perch if the clutch needs more cable. fkonieczny
Well I had to adjust at the clutch because the nut that goes on that screw back itself off, and then I had absolutely no pull on the lever. As fas as the pressure plate, how do I know where it goes? Are there any markings or something else to make sure its on right?
fixitrod
The pressure plate has an arrow that will line up with the arrow on the inner part of the clutch. It's small and not real clear to see, but you'll see it you you look for it.
eehsnab2
FixitRod is probably right... I had the same problem about 2 months ago. Make sure you get that center nut tight! I didnt and ended up pushing my banshee about a mile in the sand...
